Our Australian Headquarters
When you first see our headquarters from the outside you will undoubtedly be impressed. Even more so if you see it in the night. The “YOSEIKAN-RYU KARATE” signage will amaze you. Each window displays past and present students. This includes children all the way to veteran students. The statements on the windows explain our core values.
On entering the dojo the first thing you will notice is the very large training area that is enhanced by the mounted posters above the mirrors. All the posters are a record of the international events that Branco coached Australia’s national teams at.
Immediately on the left wall as you enter the dojo you will see several plaques and photographs. The first one that is in the centre is a hand-written and personally signed poem by Minoru Mochizuki. Most visitors don’t realise that his signature includes a mountain, Mt Fuji, which is our club badge.
Under the poem is the foundation plaque for the dojo. It was officially opened by Mitchell Johnson ( Cricket legend and Branco’s son in-law) and his Daughter Jessica Bratich, who was one of Australia’s outstanding international competitors. It was officially opened on the 23rd July 2016.
Moving on towards the gym there is a large frame that shows Branco being presented with his Order of Australia Medal. From there if you turn left you will see our fitness centre. We encourage parents to use the gym while their children are training. There is no charge for its use.
When you exit the gym you will arrive at our second training area, complete with matts and mirrors. This like the main dojo has mounted posters on the wall representing international events Branco coached at.
Turning right immediately after exiting the gym you head towards our fully equipped meeting room/kitchen You will pass the change rooms on your right. When you get to the kitchen you will see the toilets.
If you return to the main entrance and turn left, you will see our martial arts shop and office. The shop stocks a reasonable selection of Adidas martial arts equipment.
We welcome people to come and visit the Dojo during opening times and we will gladly give you a tour. Even if you’re not sure about karate classes, Yoseikan-Ryu Karate also offers Ju-Jitsu.
Please check the for class times here.
